We were given this leg of pork, hair, hoof and all, for dinner this week! I couldn’t wait to see the look on our kids faces when they came home from school and saw this sitting on the table! Our kids spend long days at school. They get up at 6 am, get ready for school and pack a lunch. They are out the door “catching the school bus” by 7 am. It takes about 20 minutes for them to get from Interface to Lapilo depending on the road conditions and weather. After school is out at 3pm, they have work detail, homework, and sports or other activities. Most days they don’t get home until 6pm (except Kelsey she comes home earlier) Sometimes our kids will call us from school just to catch up and ask mom, “What is for dinner tonight?” They are excited to hear of some scrumptious dinner prepared….

So, you can imagine how excited we were to have them come home this day…to see the look on their faces! We all had a good laugh! The kids thought it would be fun to take the leg of pork to school and throw it on the table and say, “Well, I brought my lunch, anyone want to join me?”

Even though we had a good laugh about the leg of pork, we do appreciate the generosity of our neighbors. They like to give us what they can. This particular piece of meat was part of the dinner that they prepared for a funeral. It sure makes you appreciate our grocery stores back home….neat,& clean packages of whatever cut you would like. We can be thankful for whatever food comes our way! Food for thought for sure……!

We all know that a picture is worth a thousand words…we won’t take that many to describe to you what is happening here among the Bena people. God is still at work. That’s right. Even though this small, infant church doesn’t have a missionary working along side, that doesn’t mean that God is finished with them. He really has just begun.

Heti is eager to teach thru the Chronological lessons again. These past few months its been exciting to see at least two new men coming to hear the teaching. Those who have already believed continue to meet together for prayer and fellowship.

We may not know the Bena language. We may not know how to finish the work that has been started here. But we do know how to encourage by attending, by spending time with the people and most of all thru prayer. Yes, we all can pray that God will open the eyes of the Bena to understand their lost state, and to come to Christ for salvation. Yes, we know the Lord of the Harvest…we can pray! Will you join us?

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

May we never lose the wonder of Christmas and the tremendous gift of Salvation. At this time of year we reflect on all that God has done. Praise the Lord for giving us a great year here at Interface. Our kids have almost finished another busy term. We are so grateful for our mission school and our teachers. The kids will have Dec.15-Jan.10 holiday. We are looking forward to some R&R time too! This break we will spend some time at our mission center,& then go to Madang for one week. Madang is a costal town, so we will be taking in some beach days and relaxing at our guesthome. Good news! Our co-workers, Travis & Nikki Ray, are on their way in January! Pray for them as they prepare to say goodbye to family & friends and travel here. Pray for their adjustments to a new country, culture and Language. Keep praying for the Bena people. So many here are without hope and a future with Jesus. Pray for the Bena church. We have a small handful of believers. They are meeting every Sunday and then every Wednesday they also meet to share with whoever will listen to the Bible lessons. Pray that God’s word will become clear to them…understanding the Gospel message. Pray too for a missionary to live among the Bena, the work is not finished.

Please continue to pray for our INTERFACE TEAM. We are excited as we make plans for this next year and all the individuals who will come to Interface programs. Pray with us as we grow & unite together. Pray for the Scholls and Janie Miles who are both on home assignment and will return Feb/March. Pray that they have a refreshing time with family & friends.

Pray for Mike & Cherie Peachey and Anna Botthcer as they prepare to come to Interface in January/February. The Peachy’s & Anna are associates coming to help with maintenance & in the kitchen. They are waiting on PNG paperwork.

Our co-workers, Drew & Bobbi Scholl, who are on home assignment have just released a new album called “closer than before”. 100% of the proceeds will be given away to Interface and tribal missions in PNG. If you are interested, there are a number of ways:To preview the songs and/or buy the album online please check out the following website – DrewSchollMusic.com . Also, check out the latest music video called “South Pacific Harmony” which is a video of Scholls life in PNG to one of the songs off the new album:

Keep praying for Lesley’s parents, Hank & Margaret Demark, who are coming to PNG to visit for 6 weeks, February 17-April 5. We are so excited! The Lord has provided for their plane tickets! They have also raised some money towards the cement project for the Interface classroom. If you would like to help, you can send to: NTM HQ with a note specifying “For the PNG Field Fund for ITF Classroom Floor Project.”

Merry Christmas!

It’s been a busy few months but we are keeping up with the pace! We are so blessed to have this great facility to share with others. We have two more conferences left to do this year. MAF~Mission Aviation Fellowship will be coming (Nov.7-10) and then NCA~(Numonhi Christian Academy)teachers will have their staff retreat (Nov.11-12)

Drew & Bobbi Scholl have been blessed with a baby boy! Levi was born on October 30, and weighs in at 5lb 14oz. We are rejoicing with our friends!
Our kids are in full swing with school and all the wonderful things they are learning! They are all busy & happy to do their various sports. Micah & Joshua are into soccer, and Jessica joined the basketball team. Kelsey really misses her friend Gracie Scholl, so its been hard for her. She does have several friends in Lapilo, so its good that she can play with them when she’s at school. This month is her 9th Birthday (November 28) What a sweet addition she is to our family!

Lesley’s parents, Hank & Margaret Demark, are offically coming to PNG to visit for 6 weeks, February 17-April 5. We are so excited! The Lord has provided for their plane tickets! They have also raised some money towards the cement project for the Interface classroom. If you would like to help, you can send to: NTM HQ with a note specifying “For the PNG Field Fund for ITF Classroom Floor Project.”
Continue to pray for our INTERFACE TEAM. We are excited as we look to the future & make plans for this next year. Pray with us as we grow & unite together. Pray for the Scholls and Janie Miles who are both on home assignment and will return Feb/March. Pray that they have a refreshing time with family & friends. We miss them here!

Keep Travis & Nikki Ray, Mike & Cherie Peachy, & Anna Botthcer in your prayers as they prepare to come to Interface in January/February. The Peachy’s & Anna are associates coming to help with maintenance & in the kitchen. They don’t have all their support yet. The Rays are at 60%! Pray that they will have opportunities to share with individuals/churches. Pray that they will be encouraged in the Lord and patiently wait on Him.

Pray also for our relationship with the Bena village. That we will be a testimony to them and that they will desire to know the Lord. We had the privilege this last Sunday to take the believers to the Yagaria church. They seemed excited to join their fellowship and see so many Yagaria believers. The Pastor spoke on the Holy Spirits work in our lives…it was very encouraging. We attached two photos of Pete, Jack Housley, Jacob Devine meeting with the men from the village who have trusted in Christ. We want to encourage them to continue to meet as believers and to continue to teach God’s Word with those who haven’t believed yet. Please keep praying for our Bena neighbors.

PRAISE that we fixed the problem with #2 generator!! We are so thankful too for the large gift that a church gave Interface towards our new generator! We thank FIA~Friends in Action, for helping us get our generator over here. Hopefully in the new year.

“Who has saved us and called us to a holy life-not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus…” 2 Tim.1:9

Thanks to the Lord for His grace! Every day we are so humbled & grateful for His Word, Holy Spirit and working in our lives. We know that without Him we can do NOTHING! It’s a great privilege to life here in Papua New Guinea serving at Interface.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends & family!

It’s been a very busy two months for us since the Interface team left. We were able to get away for one week to our Mission center. It wasn’t too much of a break for the kids cause they were in school but at least it was a change of pace and less driving back & forth from ITF to school.

We have two conferences done now. ALW (Advanced Language Workshop) was a success (Aug.24- Sept.4) It was neat to see how dedicated these tribal missionaries are to translating scripture. They spent hours and hours in front of their computers! We had a good first Highlands Conference (Sept. 21-25). There were about 120 people here, some representing the different highlands tribal locations that NTM serves in. Hearing their reports was encouraging! God has given each of them a different story and its neat to see how He has worked. Some have a thriving church and others are close to presenting the gospel.

Our kids had a good first semester (August 3-Sept.21). NCA had quite a few new teachers and students come this year. It took a few weeks for the kids to get used to the new changes. They all enjoyed extra school activities like sports & drama. Joshua’s volleyball team had some great tournaments that were fun & exciting to watch. Micah had a few scary migraine episodes. He has migraines with aura, so now we can recognize that and try to lessen the frequency & pain. Thankfully we have a good doctor & clinic here to help him.

Three German Interns have joined us here for the next nine months. Marco Ziegler, Diemo Lieblor, & Jonathan Seibold. They will be involved in several aspects of life here…learning Tok Pisin, culture, some English, Bible studies and helping around campus. Pray that their time here will be encouraging and a time for them to draw closer to the Lord.

We were able to get the Interface road fixed so that it’s fairly smooth. Its about 7 kilometers to the main road. Pray now that we can get some gravel. We still haven’t gotten help from the government, but the community has been very supportive & helpful!

Keep Travis & Nikki Ray, Mike & Cherie Peachy, & Anna Botthcer in your prayers as they prepare to come to Interface in January. The Peachy’s and Anna are associates coming to help with maintenance and the kitchen. They don’t have all their support yet. Pray that they will have opportunities to share with individuals/churches. Pray that they will be encouraged in the Lord and patiently wait on Him.

Continue to pray for our INTERFACE TEAM. We are excited as we look to the future & make plans for this next year. Pray with us as we grow & unite together. Pray also for our relationship with the Bena village. That we will be a testimony to them and that they will desire to know the Lord.

Pray for Drew & Bobbi Scholl, our logistics coordinator & family as they are back in the States for the birth of their 4th child. Pray for Drew as he travels & shares about Interface. We are missing them!

We have a real need for new batteries for 4 of our houses…this represents alot of money! We don’t have town power so we run the generator for the campus and after hours we use our house batteries. Pray also for our #2 generator that is having problems. We hope to get our new generator in a few months, but until then we have a big need for this second generator to run during the conferences. Pray the guys can fix the problem, whatever it is.

Pray for Jessica in her Senior year of High school. Pray with us as she decides what to do in the future after graduation. She is applying to several different schools/colleges.

Thankful for your part in our lives!
