Easter!

There is a green hill far away without the city wall. Where our dear Lord was crucified who died to save us all. There was no other good enough to pay the price of sin; He only could unlock the gate of heaven and let us in.

The celebration of Easter!  We enjoyed a long 4 day weekend with our family & co-workers here at Interface.  It was both relaxing & refreshing.  Remembering what Christ accomplished on the cross, His death, burial & resurrection…we are so blessed!! Ephesians 1

Our kids returned to school & it’s been a busy few weeks.  They all enjoy playing sports, so this term Jessica joined the girls volleyball team. Joshua joined the softball team until he fractured his left ankle. Poor guy!  He’s in a cast for a few weeks (very downcast cause he can’t play). Pray for him as he learns patience, & lessons in life about trusting God when not so fun things happen to us.

It does seem like every update we have some physical mishap in the family. We do praise God that generally we have good health~that is a huge blessing! Again, we are thankful for our medical staff who do such a great job taking care of us. Continue reading

Miracle trip to New York

The guys built two 4x4x4 crates on Thursday evening. Then the next morning, we began to pack everything!

On Thursday, May 6th, Pete & I headed out to Romulus, New York with our van loaded down with our personal belongings to send to Papua New Guinea.  Why New York? Well, our friends offered to help us build, pack & take our stuff to Jaars in North Carolina, all we needed to do was make the trip to New York. (Jaars is the shipping company!) We had a great trip there with no hassles at the border! The guys built two 4X4X4 crates on Thursday evening. Continue reading

Jessica joins the team to PNG!

Tribal People of Papua New Guinea

Tribal People of Papua New Guinea

As many of you know from our recent update, Pete has the privilege of going to PNG with our home church team from Steinbach, Manitoba. The team will leave on December 27 and return on January 16th. From the first moment that Jessica heard about the trip, she wanted to join the team. We talked it over with the team leaders and it just didn’t seem like it was going to happen for her. The team was already full. Jessica accepted that fact but said she was still praying for a miracle!

Quick “on the road” update!

Greetings from Swift Current, Sask!! We are here for our nephew, Gilbert Toews, wedding on Sat. Sept 5th. Its been good to visit with alot of Pete’s family. His mom, three sisters and their families.
The last month has been very busy for us with company visiting and other activities. Our kids have started school August 27 (except Kelsey, she starts Sept.9 at the local public school). Pete & I plan on starting our new ministries this next week at the NTMC campus. We look forward to getting into a routine and also getting to know the students & staff members. Pete will jump into building & Lesley plans on helping out in the childcare program so that the moms can go to class more regularly.
We praise God for his faithfulness and many blessings to us as we settle into life here in Canada. God is good! We all miss our home in Guinea and ask that you continue to pray as we make adjustments. Pray too for our kids that they can make friends here.
Thanks for your friendship, prayers, encouragement and support!
