Matthew 1:23 “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel-which means,” God with us.”

PRAISE
1) Our family has been healthy this past month! That’s a huge blessing since we battled colds & the flu. Then one by one we fell sick with H1N1. We didn’t have all the worst symptoms but we sure felt lousy. Five weeks of illness was definitely discouraging us…. We often take our health for granted. Praise God for good health!!

2) Our Guinean friend, Hawa Sane, is still alive!!  We thought for sure last month she was passing away with AIDS. She was sent home from the hospital a couple weeks ago. Continue to pray for her & her family. She is suffering so much. We were told too that her understanding of the gospel is a bit confused…pray for clarity, and for those who are sharing with her.

3) We’ve been so blessed to have warmer temperatures this past month! This allowed the building team to really move ahead on the school project. It was great to have some volunteers from New York help out…these guys sure know how to work!  The Academy is looking almost complete…now the team is working on the inside: drywall, painting & carpets. Pray that they can get this done, so that the building will be ready for the students in January.

4) Our kids are doing well. Moving to another country & a different school has been a challenge but they are making friends, & adjusting to life here in Canada. Joshua & Micah love sports & hunting, so that keeps them active. Jessica works hard at school, & has kept busy with babysitting. Kelsey just turned 7 years old this past week!!

5) We thank God for our families, & our friends who pray & support us faithfully! Without your part, our ministry would be impossible. So, we thank you!!

6) Muloch Christian Fellowship has been a great encouragement to our family. It’s a small group but so warm & sweet! Worshipping together, small group Bible studies & fun times of fellowship has been so good! There is a small group of young people, “Energy”, that meet every other Friday. The kids have enjoyed these times.

PRAYER
1) A group of 19 adults & kids from our home church in Steinbach, Manitoba are heading to Papua New Guinea to assist in building a NTM guest home in Lapilo. Close friends, Terry & Rosie Banman will be their hosts. Pete has been invited to join the team!! He is super excited to be a part of this team. He loves to travel, & helping out on a building project is just what he’s good at! He plans to leave December 26 to join the team in Manitoba; from there the team will start their journey. He arrives back in Canada, January 16th. Pray for the team, and all the logistics. If you would like to follow the happenings, they have a blog you can visit:  missionpng.blogspot.com

2) So, that leaves Mama with the kiddos….so you can be praying for us!

3) Continue to uplift the country of Guinea. Things seem to be calm on the outside for now. All personnel serving in the capital of Conakry have been evacuated. Pray for these families as they wait out this unrest. Pray for the upcoming elections in January and for a peaceful solution.

4) Lesley has been enjoying working in the childcare program. It’s been a great avenue to get to know all the students, & share how God is working in their lives! Having opportunities to share with the ladies has been so encouraging…we each have so much to be thankful for! God is at work in each of our hearts…molding us to His image.

5) We’ve so much enjoyed meeting with our member care couple! Each week we get together, God is opening our eyes to His truth & how He is allowing us to walk this path.  Being thankful is the first key, and then realizing God wants us to be made into the image of his Son Jesus Christ!  Each path we walk whether good or bad, is God orchestrated. Pray that we won’t miss this!! Pray that as a couple God will drive these truths to our hearts, not just in our heads!

6) We continue to ask the Lord for guidance & wisdom in where we should permanently live. Right now, we are renting a home which has worked out well for now. We would like to move onto NTMC campus this next year…however, we aren’t sure if there will be housing for us. If this option doesn’t work, we need to be praying about either renting a bigger, more affordable home, or buying our own home. Please pray with us as we seek God’s direction.

May you have a wonderful Christmas season celebrating the birth of Jesus!

Merry Christmas!
